Cwmbwrla Day Services on the Road to Mental Health

Welcome to the Cwmbwrla education page.

The education service here at Cwmbwrla provides;

Advice guidance and support services in relation to individual education related need       assistance and support in accessing a wide range of educational courses.

Ensuring a varied and structured user led education programme within the centre.

Community based courses run in collaboration with Swansea College, Gorseinon         College and DACE (Department of Adult Continuing Education at Swansea University).

All of the learning which is provided or accessed by us aims to be flexible, accessible, responsive and meaningful and is a combination of vocational, non vocational, accredited and non accredited as each of the service users we work with have very individual needs. Educational Guidance interviews are also available from the education team.

There are two staff on the education team here at Cwmbwrla, both of whom are funded from the successful Objective 1 bid.

Liz Porter is the centre based education officer working to ensure that a varied and user led programme is available within the centre.

Some of the activities/groups are run by members of staff whilst others are delivered by Swansea College, DACE as part of their community outreach programmes.
